From William Blake to the 21st century suburban hinterlands of JG Ballard, Writing Britain: Wastelands to Wonderland will examine how the landscapes of Britain permeate the nation's great literary works. Explore over 150 literary works including sound recordings, letters, photographs, maps, song lyrics and drawings.

| Young Patrons - New Wilde Membership |

We are now offering a young patrons membership for supporters in their 20s-30s.
Wilde Membership gives young supporters exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Library and the opportunity to meet with friends and make new ones in a relaxed social environment like our recent Spring Festival 'Late' event.

Earlier this month the Library hosted its first Spring Festival aimed at the creative industries. Over 1,500 people took part in the fantastic five-day programme including a pop-up market and exhibition, digital graffiti, vintage knitting and top names such as Quentin Blake, Jamie Hewlett (Gorillaz), Neville Brody, Mr Scruff and Emma Bridgewater.

St Cuthbert Gospel Appeal

The St Cuthbert Gospel looks exactly the same to us today as it did to the monks who created it fourteen centuries ago. We have under £1.5m left to raise to reach our target and achieve our goal of displaying it in London and the North-East.
